Empowering Youth Through
Radio & Technology

We bring together Scouting's spirit of adventure with real-world STEM skills — giving young people the tools, training, and licences to communicate across the globe.

📡

Foundation Licence Training

Structured online and in-person training to help Scouts and Leaders earn their ACMA Amateur Radio Foundation Licence — the gateway to operating on HF, VHF and UHF bands.

🌐

JOTA — Jamboree On The Air

Every October, Scouts worldwide connect by radio. We host JOTA at Glenfield Scout Activity Centre, running HF voice, FT8 digital modes, and satellite contacts for 300+ participants.

🛰

Space & Satellite Tech

We partnered with UNSW's BlueSat team to deliver Amateur Radio Foundation Training to student satellite engineers — bridging Scouting into the space industry.

🔁

Repeater Infrastructure

We operate and maintain a network of VHF/UHF repeater sites across the Hume Region, providing linked communications for Scouting events and emergency preparedness.

🏕

Carols & Community Events

Beyond radio, we bring the Scouting community together with events like Carols in the Camp — fostering fellowship, leadership, and youth development.

🎓

Youth Leadership

Scouting delivers 12 years of structured leadership development from age 5. Our STEM programs layer technical skills onto that foundation, preparing future engineers and communicators.

What the Fellowship
Is Here to Do

The aims of the Fellowship are to bring Amateur Radio, Communications and Electronics to the Scouting Youth year round, and to support Hume Region with fundraising.

JOTA — Jamboree on the Air — comes around only once a year. As Licensed Amateur Radio Operators and Adult Members of the Fellowship, we can bring Amateur Radio and all the associated communications and electronics specialised skills into your program as required. These form the basis of Science, Technology and Engineering skills.

📻
Radio Stations & Global Contacts

We set up full radio stations capable of communicating around the world with other Amateur Radio Operators.

🦊
Fox Hunts — Radio Orienteering

Wide games using hidden transmitters — tracked and located by radio, similar to orienteering but without a map.

🎓
Licence Study & Exams

We assist with study and exams for any youth or adult member wishing to join the Amateur Radio Community.

🎬
Media & Communications Skills

Videography, video production, sound recording and reporter skills — informal training for interested youth and young adults.

We are here to assist you with your program around communications and electronics. We have the specialised skills and experience — reach out and get in touch.
